Illustration and Design
The portfolio contains a variety of print media pieces in the realm of visual communication. It is intended as an overview for art directors and publishers. The images in various categories include photography, drawing, painting and digital medium. The artwork is reflective of my individual concepts and designs.
Paintings
The portfolio is a compilation of oil paintings created within the past ten years. For me painting is a continuing source of discovery and exploration. Currently I choose to work with a wide array of subject matter. Many of my influences stem from various painters from the early twentieth century. Often, there is certain romanticism in work that could be considered nostalgic.
Many of these paintings are imbued with a sense of wonder or reverence for nature. The figurative works are fictional. These portrayals convey subtleties of countenance and emotional undertone. I like to think of paintings often as a source of illumination, offering the viewer something far removed from language. My approach to painting is non-formulaic and continues to evolve as time moves forward.
